A touch of heart

Ari was in her hospital bed staring at freedom just out her window.

"If I could Leave and, and just -"
The room shook.
"Hun I got your soup"
Ari's eyes closed
The nurse saw her disappointment but carried on.
any thing better than this,please
Ari was battling cancer. At 13. Where to go? Who to turn to?
She was lost.
She wasn't safe.
Am i going to die?

Ari started crying
"Hun are you ok?"
"Just, no.."
She trailed off and fell asleep; the only sleep since the operation,the only real sleep without an IV.
She dreamed.She dreamed of green grass,Blue skies and Caleb.

The next day came and she woke up to-
"No! It It just can't happen." Her mother was crying.
" We have to." The doctor was trying to calm her mom down.
Ari just laid in her bed listening acting asleep.
"But what if if if if-"
"It will be fine."
" You will see her again, healthy, after its done."
I'm going to die?
She heard her mom walk out and a deeper voice came.
"Ari, Ari wake up"
It was her dad.
She reached for him and hugged him.
"Hi dad"
He kissed her cheek.
"I'm going to die aren't i."
A tear rolled down her face.
"No your not. Doctor. Morganne Will do all he can."
"Oh thank you.."
Ari let go and her head fell back on her pillow.
"Do you want me to stay the night?"
She was dying to say yes but she didn't want to cause him any trouble. Even though he wanted to stay by her side.
"No dad,"
She fell asleep. Not really. She wanted him to leave with no worry. Sure enough she heard his footsteps, followed by the doctors leave.
Once she felt alone and relieved a knock came from the door.

it gets worse

She Yelled
"Come in!!"
Her throught about shattered
"lets not do that again"
she said.
She laughed at her self while trying to lift herself up.
The door opened and with her surprise it was ... caleb : D
